Lines "Art as Language" Feb 11 2014

I find it interesting how lines can show just as much emotion as talking and telling about how you feel. Even when your drawing lines your emotions still show, like when your angry and you press harder on the paper, or when your very energetic and you make crazy lines that go all over the place. I knew art was a language but I thought of it as a picture of something like a happy face that tells your happy. But i never knew that something as simple as a line could express so much. I also thought it was interesting that a line is like a representation of what language is, basically language is two locations and a vehicle that transports a thought from one location to another, just like language a line is one point and it travels to another, and what the connection between the two points looks like is what the message is, so if the line is smooth and soft its most likely calm and quiet, but if its thick, big and has lots of sharp edges it comes off as very angry and mean.
