Joshua Kettle Art Talk Textbook Work P4

1. The author defines line as something to lead your eyes, like how lines will lead your eye through an artwork or lead your eyes into the middle of a spiral.

2. Lines need dimensions, movement and a direction, making a line requires the right tools and surfaces.

3. The amount of space an object takes up in one space.

4. Lines can be drawn on paper with pencils, it can be carved into rock with chisels and many other ways.

5. An outline is the line around an existing object, an outline isn't like a crack in the ground, its more like the edges of an object. A implied line is a line made up of objects that aren't physically connected, but our eyes follow each object and create a line for us.

  1. Good work Josh. I like your insights. Could you go into settings and change the name of your blog to include P4 please? It makes it easier for me to mark. Thanks a lot, and keep up the good work. :)
